Bristol Renaissance Faire 2005

Last December the management at the Bristol Renaissance Faire were kind enough to allow me to run around the grounds in the snow. I had only recently gotten back into photography (and I didn't shoot that much to begin with), so I didn't know that, with all that white, you had to boost the exposure compensation a couple of notches. Well, now I have Adobe Lightroom, and I was able to re-edit the original RAW files and come up with some pretty good images, if I do say so myself.

I originally had these posted in a gallery under the name "Elizabethan Christmas". I cut the number of images in the series down to 37 (I think there were nearly 100 originally). I'll be dropping them in from time to time as the mood strikes. This is one of my favorites, so I figured I'd start with it. The ribbons blowing in the wind caught my eye (yes, the wind really was blowing that hard, and it was snowing), and I thought the trees made a nice frame to lead your eyes to New Market in the background.

I hope you enjoy them, and forgive me if I occasionally wax nostalgic. :)
